About:
Van Gogh was always a big advocate of the impact that nature has on humans. Being in nature, or even viewing a painting of nature, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings.
Van Gogh had a room at the inn Auberge Ravoux in Auvers and was under the care and supervision of Dr. Gachet with whom he grew to have a close relationship, “something like another brother.”
At that time vincent created a series of wheat field paintings, and this one belongs to that series. Through this painting, he wanted to create a strong feeling of a primitive bond with nature that every human has.
